Connie Denise Bass Director, Bea Gaddy Family Center Connie is the Director of the Bea Gaddy Family Centers, Inc., in Baltimore, MD. She has been the Director of the Center since 2002, but has been with the Center since its inception in 1981. Connie is very familiar with the plight of the poor living within Baltimore. She volunteered with Bea Gaddy, who was an activist, an ordained minister and a former councilwoman. The Center deals with people who have nowhere else to turn, and provides the basic necessities of food and clothing everyday. They serve the community by providing a hot meal every Saturday. The Center also helps to provide financial resources for rent and gas & electric, and also helps to find housing, counseling and educational programs for many others. This long term shelter is a place for people who want to rebuild their lives. It is run and maintained by its residents who rent four properties. Connie is one of many, helping to promote Bea’s legacy to serve the community by remaining sensitive to the plight of the poor, blind, sick and exploited. Her goal is to never lose the common touch, and remains connected to the community any way she can. She has one daughter Jawana, and two grandchildren named Bria and Ben. In addition to her volunteer work, Connie loves to go bowling whenever she can.

Crystal Edwards-Brownlee Director, Annapolis Lighthouse Shelter Born in Annapolis, Maryland, Crystal Edwards-Brownlee graduated from Annapolis High School in 1982. Crystal’s strong interest in philanthropy is evident throughout her professional career. She served 10 years at the Provident Center as a Janitor Maintenance Trainer/Supervisor and 5 years at United Cerebral Palsy as a Team Leader ensuring proper workforce placement of clients in the community. Crystal has enjoyed 13 years of work at Bello Machre, a non-profit organization servicing the mentally handicapped, as a Family Living Director. Here Crystal temporarily resides with clients teaching them life skills to foster independence. Still employed at Bello Machre, Crystal works with clients as her schedule permits. Crystal currently works fulltime as the Managing Director and Volunteer Coordinator of Annapolis Area Ministries, Inc., a nonprofit organization in Annapolis which runs the Light House Homeless Shelter. Crystal serves on the Board of New Beginnings, an organization that works with the homeless, and the Anne Arundel County Homelessness Advisory Team. She is an active member of Fowler’s United Methodist Church. Crystal currently resides in Pasadena with her husband, Terrance, her son and 4 stepchildren.

Randall Fisher, Esquire Fisher Law Office and Non Profit Counsel for The Sweet Mission Foundation Randy is an attorney working in private practice in Annapolis, MD. His firm focuses on estate and wealth planning, business acquisition, operations and succession planning in addition to general business and commercial law. Randy grew up in Houston, Texas, and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He went on to receive his Master's Degree from Midwestern University in Wichita Falls and his Law Degree from Texas Tech University. His pro-bono activities include serving as head of the Audit Committee for the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital Board; serving as Legal Counsel to Mark 10:14 Inc., a charitable organization supporting activities at the Annapolis Stanton Center; assisting with charitable bequests for Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church; serving as Legal Counsel to Art Walk, an organization working with the City of Annapolis on the presentation of local Maryland Artists that were part of the City's 300th birthday celebration; serving as Legal Counsel to the Soujourner-Douglass College and the Inner Harbor Community Development Corporation, an economic development corporation focusing on the construction of affordable, low income housing for people in East Baltimore.

Jeffrey Gelfand, M.D. Orthopedic Surgeon, Co-Founder, Helping Hands Foundation Jeffrey Gelfand is an orthopedic surgeon in private practice with Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Anne Arundel County, with sub specialty interest in Hand Surgery. He grew up on Long Island, NY, and completed his orthopedic training at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan. He completed his Hand Surgery fellowship in Syracuse, and has gone on to perform hand surgery in Bolivia and Honduras with medical missions. He is a founding member of the Helping Hands Foundation, an organization formed to make difficult hand operations possible for children from other countries where the proper medical expertise is not available. Beverleyann Gould R.N. Case Manager, The AA County Department of Aging Beverleyann graduated from Morgan State College with her BS in Biology in 1968, and went on to earn her BSN at the Texas Women's University in Austin, Texas. She attended Loyola College in Baltimore, where she received her MA in Pastoral Counseling and Spiritual Care in 2001. She has been working as a Health Services Specialist with the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities for the past four years. In this position, Beverleyann works as a case manager for the frail and elderly seniors in our community. She considers herself a friend and an advocate to many of her clients, and helps to find resources for their most basic needs. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Mid-Atlantic Cancer Support Center since 2005. She also leads a local cancer support group once a month and facilitates a Grief Share support group weekly. Beverleyann works hard to carry on the memory and the good will of her husband, who recently passed away from prostate cancer in April 2006. She loves to spend time with her two children and two grandchildren whenever she can.

Bob Lange Internet Consultant Bob is an independant Internet Consultant that works with small and medium sized businesses. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland in College Park, and has over 25 years of experience in marketing, advertising and communications. Throughout his career, he has held senior level management positions with an assortment of regional and national marketing and advertising firms. His client experience includes work for ExxonMobil, Choice Hotels, Marriott, CVS Drugstores, Childrens Hospital and many others. Bob lives in Montgomery County, MD with his wife Carol and sons Jackson and Keenan, and is active in church and community activities.

Christina Morganti M.D. Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Morganti is an orthopedic surgeon in private practice with Orthopedic & Sports Medicine in Anne Arundel County with sub specialty interest in Sports Medicine and osteoporosis. She was born and raised in Syracuse, NY, where she also completed her medical school and orthopedic residency training. She completed a Sports Medicine fellowship at Johns Hopkins Medical School. She is married, with four children.

Duane Woodburn, DVM Founding Partner, Greater Annapolis Veterinary Hospital Dr. Duane Woodburn was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. He obtained his B.S. degree in Animal Science in 1976 from the University of Maryland at College Park. In 1980, he was awarded a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Georgia, where, as a senior student, he received the Merck Veterinary Award for proficiency in small animal medicine. Dr. Woodburn has been a resident of Anne Arundel County since 1980 and became a partner at Greater Annapolis Veterinary Hospital in 1984. He enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, particularly internal medicine. He is a two term past president of the Anne Arundel County Veterinary Medical Association, a former chairman of the Anne Arundel County Animal Control Commission, and a past chairman of the Indian Creek School Board of Trustees. Dr. Woodburn is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, Maryland Veterinary Medical Association, Anne Arundel County Veterinay Medical Association, Association of Avian Veterinarians and the Mid Atlantic States Association of Avian Veterinarians. He, his wife Norma (who is also a veterinarian at GAVH) and their two children live in Anne Arundel County and enjoy many activities including boating, fishing, skiing, and baseball.
